I have been asked to install an operating system on a Netbook. The 2 options are http://www.jolicloud.com/ and http://www.ubuntu.com/netbook Which do you suggest ?

Why not install XP? It's light enough for netbooks.

My preference would be Ubuntu, but it depends on what you want to do. In my own opinion ubuntu may help on improving your over all system performance.

XP would be the better option for a Netbook since it only requires a recommend of 512mb of RAM.

Actually, xp will run on like 256 meg, however, in my mind, if the user is familiar with Linux, then the linux variant is always preferable, and I personally, find Ubuntu to be nice, simple and easy to learn and would definetly recomend Ubuntu.

It would be better if XP adn with Ubuntu I'm not sure about it because I never tried that one. So far with me I've no problem with XP and I think it's perfect for Netbook but it depends on your RAM.

What are the Netbook specs.?? My Asus is running win 7 starter just fine with 2gig ram and 250Gb harddrive
