hi all,

I've got my own website www.richardharper.net currently being hosted by BT..I make regular changes usinhg ftp via dreamweaver 8 which is installed onto my desktop pc.

I've just purchased a new laptop, installed the dreamweaver 8 programme onto it, with the intention of doing the same from my laptop...Well that was the plan.

I've got no idea how to transfer everything over from pc to laptop, nor how to set up dreamweaver either.

It was originally all set up by a friend who knew everything there was to know, but he's sadly passed away...

Is there a really simple way of doing this, or am I just out of depth.

Hoping someone can help

Moving the files from one computer to another is no different than moving any other sort of files. Copy the files to a thumb drive, or email them to yourself and save them on your new computer.

Setting up Dreamweaver may be a bit more of a challenge since you will need to know your log in credentials for managing the website. I will have to defer to someone that uses Dreamweaver to help you with that, but in essence, all oyu need to do is upload your changed files to the proper place on the server. That can be accomplished in any number of ways.
