Hi, So some backround info on my situation. My PC was recently infected with the Patch.fm Virus... My friend gave me a copy of windows that is not genuine windows software so i can not use windows update tool... But i still was able to update my PC. After installing the fresh copy of windows I have No sound.

On the volume panel it says no Audio Device... I am not good with PC's and I know its something with my sound card. The PC was put together and I have no idea what sound card it is or mother board it is. IF anyone can please help me get my sound back it would be awesome. Thank you.

I had sound before I put a new copy of windows on. The virus is gone I just have no sound.

I also got the IDT High Def Drivers but it says "THis device cannot start" I have no clue on how to get my sound back. Any help would be much appreciated.

Step 1: Get Genuine Windows

Step 2: Use Windows update to get all the needed driver updates
