My computer has been hijacked with a program that apparently has blocked just about anything, including internet access, and posts a screen saying that I have to upgrade my antivirus software. The supposed software is called Antivirus IS and all I get are popups that direct me to an internet "pay page"....the only thing I can access on IE. How do I get rid of this? Is this scam just about collecting $$ for the bogus software or are they also stealing my ID's, passwords, etc.?

Hello,

You have a couple choices. You could give this removal guide a try. It has detailed instructions on what you can do to get past the initial tactics involved here. http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/virus-remo...-antivirus-soft It may at least help you get back online or even take care of the malware. If this does not completely help you please do the following.

Please follow the instructions in ==>This Guide<==.

Once the proper logs are created, then make a NEW TOPIC and post it ==>HERE<==

If you can produce at least some of the logs, then please create the new topic. If you cannot produce any of the logs, then post back here and we will provide you with further instructions.

THANK YOU!!! I ran rkill (took a few times to get it to work) and then Malwarebytes full scan and remove and I seem to have my computer back. Bought the full version of MBAM to have realtime protection. You saved the day!
