I keep getting this error:

"Common Client Network Proxy Service has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience."

I have Windows XP SP2. DSL

details about the error:

szAppName : CCPROXY.EXE szAppVer : 2.1.6.3 szModName : PXYHTTP.DLL
szModVer : 2.1.6.3 offset : 000070d2

C:\DOCUME~1\Ian\LOCALS~1\Temp\WER301a.dir00\CCPROXY.EXE.mdmp
C:\DOCUME~1\Ian\LOCALS~1\Temp\WER301a.dir00\appcompat.txt

I believe it has something to do with Norton. CCPROXY.exe

When this error happens the internet stops working until i reboot.

So i went to services and had it restart the service everytime it fails for a temporary solution.

What is the permanant solution??

Thank you for taking the time to read my problem and thanks to whoever tries to help.

Here is some more infomation on ccproxy.exe. This appears to be a third party proxy server. If you don't use it I would recommend uninstalling it. Especially if it is causing issues.

"How to remove CCProxy manually?

Step1. Launch CCProxy -> Options: uncheck "Auto Startup" and "NT Service" -> Close CCProxy.
Step2. Find the folder including ccproxy.exe, delete ccproxy.exe. If you can find a file named "unins000.exe", you can launch it to do uninstallation."

How do I launch CCProxy?

Go to Sart>Control Panel>Administrative Tools>Services. Find CCPROXY and disable it. Follow the removal instruction.
