...I am in the market for a new mobo. YAY! No, seriously, I'm excited. :D
I was just wondering if anyone had an opinion on the GIGABYTE GA-MA785GM-US2H
. I really like the features, and it seems like a great board for the price. I only have 2GB of DDR2 PC-6400 right now and don't really want to make that useless, but I'm just wondering if I should go for a board with DDR3 and pay a little extra. It seems like the extra MHz may not be worth it at this time, since all I'm really doing is school and Star Wars Galaxies (Yeah, yeah I know!) at this point. I just can't really make up my mind.
My current mobo is HP locked so I can't configure any advanced BIOS settings (which really irritates me,) and only supports up to 4GB. Seems the manufacturer decided to remove the other two memory banks. I currently have an AMD Athlon II X2 Regor 255 and don't feel like upgrading the processor again since I just did last week from a Sempron 140. As long as it has an AM2+ socket, I'm alright. I also have a Radeon 4650 which is a good enough video card for me, and I really liked the fact that this board suppors CrossFire which would boost the graphics even more.
Any suggestions or opinions on the Gig? Thanks all! :D
