Hi! first off, can I just say that if I am posting this in the wrong place then I'm really sorry, not sure where it belongs!?
I have a Toshiba Tecra 8100 and just lately the pointer has been darting of to the left bottom corner of the screen against my will, its a real battle and often I loose! I use photoshop on a regular basis and the pointer is making it really hard for me. I dont have a mouse I have a built in little round button in the middle of the keys, I read something about re installing it to solve the problem but as its built in I dont think I can do this? Any ideas would be gratefully received.

 to BC KittyWildberg,

This is the right spot for your problem.

That could be a mechanical problem witht the little joystick but I don't think it's likely. Have a look in your manual for any tips on cleaning it.

Check in Control Panel under 'Mouse' or possibly 'Game Controllers' to see if the correct pointing device is selected (there may be a pull-down menu of choices). Double-click 'System' to open the 'System Properties' window and select the 'Hardware' tab, then click 'Device Manager'. What is listed under 'Mice and other pointing devices'? Does anything have a yellow symbol with a '!' in it?

Reinstalling the joystick does not mean doing this literally, it means deleting the joystick from the Device Manager and then rebooting Windows. When Windows loads it will (hopefully) find the joystick and re-install the drivers. This often fixes problem devices. Give that a go.
