When trying to burn a cd in WMP 11, I get a message that I have to connect a burner and restart WMP. Needless to say it doesn't work. I've done just about everything including googled and did the following, unistalled itunes, downloaded drivers, turned imap on to automatic, eliminated filters in regedit, , etc., etc. Tried ccleaner and combfix. any ideas?

What is the exact message?

At what point does it appear?

Have you burned successfully before, using the same method you are using now?

What is the exact message?
The message reads, "Connect a burner and restart the Player."

At what point does it appear?
After loading a playlist to burn, then clicking Burn, the message appears where it should say, insert a blank CD.

Have you burned successfully before, using the same method you are using now?
Yes, have never had a problem.

Does your cd burner show in My Computer and Device Manager?

These drives wear out and die
Chewy

No. Try not. Do... or do not. There is no try.

Does your cd burner show in My Computer and Device Manager?

Yes. I unistalled and rebooted thinking it was corrupted, and it was reloaded after boot.

I can play cd's, just can't burn.
