I had been having problems with sound from divx files for awhile. And I was prompted that I didn't have the proper codecs to play the sound in the divx files. I found and installed the codecs, but then my windows media player 11 wouldn't play the files, and windows dvd maker wouldn't burn but to 0.9% where then it stalled, said an error occurred, then restarted. After I un-installed the codecs from my hp laptop (vista) I then tried to play the file in windows media player 11 and had the same problem. The windows media player freezes then prompts a error message saying it has stopped working properly. And the windows dvd maker is still stalling at 0.9% then saying it encountered a error and needs to restart. How can I fix these error so I can use my windows dvd maker and windows media player to watch the files like before?

Pretty common Vista DVD Maker problem.
I experienced it myself and I was never able to fix it, so I switched to some other burning programs.
