Recently, my laptop has started acting up a little.
It began whille surfing the net, Explorer became unresponsive, and eventually the system froze and the only resolution was to power off and reboot.
This became more and more frequent, and effecting other programs.
I've disabled all unnecessary services, and when checking the event log, the only two files that threw up an error were regi.sys saying that it failed an audit, and then several failures for the Network Location Awareness failed to load.
I've disabled these, and so far, no freezing, although, i'd prefer to have the NLA in place for obvious reasons.
I appear to be spyware, adware and virus clean.
The only other thing i notice, is that the access light for my hard-drive seems to be on almost permanantly, as if it is constantly being accessed, but i've no idea by what or why.
I'm running a Sony Vaio and Vista which is as up to date as it is possible to be.
Anybody any theories or any recommended diagnostics i could run to identify why or where this problem is being caused ??
Many Thanks as always .....
