Hanging on "acquiring network address " on start-up

Alright so, I'm not sure if this is a network problem or not, but whenever I start up my computer from it being shut down, the little wirless thingy will just play the acquiring network address animation and just sit there forever. I knw something is wrong because before, it only did that for abut 2-3 seconds before connecting. I can connect, I just have to repair the connection to get it to work. Any idea what could be causing this problem and how to solve
