I've come again across the problem where the bleeping game just locks up. And this time, I've ruled out my PSU and vid card. My brother got a hold of my Generals CDs and did God knows what with them (I was at school during this time).

After the loading gets done, when the game starts the "blinky-thing" doesn't blink. I hear sounds, but after awhile they stop. When I hit escape, the game menu takes approx. 30-40 secs to show up. Why have I ruled out my PSU and vid card? Because I've let them cool off overnight. Could it be some corrupt files? I am so close from beating all 3 campaigns, and its frustrating when this dilemma holds me back.

I've uninstalled and reinstalled the game... to no avail. I have been given advice to upgrade my PSU, I will look into available PSUs. Until then... I am open to any ideas.
