Son got virus on PC - but doesn't know for sure how. Manifested as a virus protection software program, indicated computer was infected with a virus, and was apparently scanning the computer for viruses (by the time I got to the computer). Unplugged the network connection immediately.

I was unable to run Task Manager - window popped up indicating that the application was infected "do you want to scan...". Could not run internet explorer - looks like it was trying to redirect to a porn site. Essentially could not run anything, not even shutdown - always got a pop-up indicating application infected...

Did a hard reboot, and came up in Safe Mode with Networking. MAde sure network connection was unplugged.

Ran MalawareBytes - found multiple (4) occurrences of Rogue.security Suite - removed them
Ran SuperAntiSpyware - it found tracking cookies only - removed them
Ran Spybot Search & Destroy - can't recall if it found anything, but I don't think so.

Then ran boot virus scan with Avast - it did not find anything.

Rebooted - normal mode

Ran MalawareBytes again - it found Rogue.security Suite in another garbage .exe file - removed it

Reconnected to internet - everything appears to work, however I believe after each reboot, MalawareBytes will find the Rogue.security suite in a different file, so I think there is still an infection on the PC. (It did this on the first scan I did after rebooting. Am running another scan now)

How do I go about completely removing this?
