I am running Windows XP and Internet Explorer 8. Tonight, I removed a few viruses by myself using Malwarebytes and ComboFix and also by deleting individual files I knew were part of the viruses. But I was still feeling very suspicious that I may still have something on my computer. And I incidentally went into my Control Panel to the System icon and then for no reason at all, checked my User Profiles and the Settings. Listed were two VERY suspicious user profiles both with the same name "40004SALE\OWNER", but created on different dates. The first one was created on August 3, 2010 and the other was created today, September 11, 2010. Obviously, I did not create these myself, so I feel there MUST be a security breach. For some unknown reason I was able to delete the August 3, 2010 profile, but it tells me I can only Change the Profile Type of the September 11, 2010 one, but it only has the option of Local. I searched the web up and down on "40004SALE\OWNER" and came up with absolutely nothing. I have exhausted the little expertise I have and am asking for someone to please help me. I just finally want my computer back to the way it was. I have reason to believe that whatever began this whole thing knocked out my connection to the router in our house. It wiped out the secure connection I was running on similarily around the same time.

Thank you.

Hello and welcome. having run ComboFix on your own means we need to approach this this way.

Please go here....
Preparation Guide ,do steps 6 - 9.

Create a DDS log and post it in the new topic explained in step 9,which is here Virus, Trojan, Spyware, and Malware Removal Logs and not in this topic, thanks.
If Gmer won't run, skip it and move on.
Include your ComboFix log.

Let me know if that went well.

Hello,

Thank you for responding to help me. Actually, my husband did more research and he said that our computer's name is "40004SALE\Owner". He said because we bought it at a university sale that is probably what they named it since they had so many computers to sell. I have another problem, but will create a new post. You can close this topic.

Thank you so much again.
