XP Boot up problem

I have XP Pro on my 5 year old desktop. It now doesn't complete the boot up sequence but on reaching the boot in Windows page proceeds to shut down. I do not have the original program disk nor the product key. Any help would be much appreciated.

Hi ,you can get bootdisk from this site ,and i would suggest going to a command and running "chkdsk /r" with out the "" of course ,good luck
