Hello:

I've been trawling the internet for the past several hours trying to figure out what's wrong with my computer. My symptoms are very similar to those described in this post: http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/ind...&hl=svchost as summarized below.

Google search redirects to other search engines
Machine will not run Windows update - page fails to load
Have about 10x svchost.exe processes running

I checked some other processes on processlibrary.com and some other look suspect (mrtstub.exe, mdm.exe). Whether there are other problems I'm unaware of, I'm not sure.

I've run Spybot SD and Malwarebytes with no positive outcome. I ran the latest Microsoft Defender, which informed me that an issue I have with the computer is the Alureon.H program. I have an external hard drive connected to my computer as well. I'm not sure how to resolve the issue myself having read through the post linked above - can anyone please help?

Thanks very much.

Hello,

Please follow the instructions in ==>This Guide<==. If you cannot complete a step, skip it and continue.

Once the proper logs are created, then make a NEW TOPIC and post it ==>HERE<== Please a description of your computer issues and what you have done to resolve them.

If you can produce at least some of the logs, then please create the new topic and explain what happens when you try to create the log(s) that you couldn't get. If you cannot produce any of the logs, then still post the topic and explain that you followed the Prep. Guide, were unable to create the logs, and describe what happens when you try to create the logs.
