Hello all, first time poster here. I'm not sure if this is in the right area, and if not, I apologize. I'm having issues with my touchpad on my laptop. I have a Toshiba with the handy little key that switches the touchpad off and on so I can use the mouse if I so wish. I am now unable to use the switch or even enable/disable from the control panel. Thank goodness I have a mouse or my laptop would be almost useless right now. I can't even get in to update a driver through the control panel. Any ideas?

When using your mouse, you can't get in to the Control Panel to update drivers?

What about Device Manager?

It says my driver is up to date in my device manager and I am unable to access the driver update from the control panel of the touchpad.

Hello Joonyer and welcome to Bleepingcomputer.

Laptops usually have support pages from their vendor addressing the touchpad issue.

I could point you to a link for any laptop, but prefer to link Bleepingcomputer members to the support documents meant primarily for their specific laptop make and model number.

I realize you have a Toshiba brand laptop, but the model number works wonders in obtaining support documents.

In the meantime however, I am going to post a link to a web site that specializes in free Toshiba laptop repair documents for the home users.

The web site I linked you to above is something you should bookmark for future reference even if you do not plan to use its documents now.

Bruce.
