I have an old Dell with XP Home, SP3. The IE and Firefox browers can't display all of the web page graphics correctly. Some icons and backgrounds don't display on any web page. Installed Chrome and Opera and they work just fine.

Tired to "reset" all of the IE settings, cleaned the temp files with ATF, scanned for maleware with SAS, reset the XP visual settings, updated the display drivers, etc etc.

Also changed security from CA suite to Avira/Prevx. Still the same.

Can't think of what setting might be blocking the images.

Does Firefox use the same rendering engine as IE ?? I didn't think so.

Just a quick search produced this:

http://helpmerick.com/firefox-or-internet-...backgrounds.htm

# Click Start
# Click Settings –> Control Panel
# Double-click the Accessibility options
# Click the Display tab
# Un-check the “use high contrast” box
# Click Apply
# Click OK

Sounds kind of what like you're discribing

Magic!! That was it. Would have never looked there. This was an elderly persons computer and one of the grandchildren tried to increase the font size. I should have checked here too.

Now all the colors and backgrounds are there.

Thanks!!
