Hello,

I need some help. I'm on my work computer and we do not have an IT department.

Yesterday I clicked on a webiste and my AVG program quarntined this: Trojan horse Generic 19.HBP. So I got off of that site. Then spybot popped up with all sorts of vlue entries that I denied.

Here is that log:
9/7/2010 2:56:04 PM Denied (based on user decision) value "rundll32" (new data: "C:\Documents and Settings\cloretz\userinit.exe") added in System Startup user entry!
9/7/2010 2:56:15 PM Denied (based on user decision) value "rundll32" (new data: "C:\WINDOWS\system32\ntdevice.exe") added in System Startup global entry!
9/7/2010 2:56:44 PM Denied (based on user decision) value "Shell" (new data: "explorer.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\ntdevice.exe") changed in Winlogon!
9/7/2010 2:59:07 PM Denied (based on user decision) value "rundll32" (new data: "C:\Documents and Settings\cloretz\userinit.exe") added in System Startup user entry!
9/7/2010 2:59:19 PM Denied (based on user decision) value "rundll32" (new data: "C:\WINDOWS\system32\ntdevice.exe") added in System Startup global entry!
9/7/2010 2:59:30 PM Denied (based on user decision) value "Shell" (new data: "explorer.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\ntdevice.exe") changed in Winlogon!

I denied all these things but the buttons on my toolbar changed and my background changed and my computer started running slower.
Also, on the net, I was redirected from google to asklot.com, search.pro and possibly others. I would not be able to access this website, except that I created a short url to get here. Somehow, that out smarted it I guess.

I ran a full scan with AVG, but it found nothing. Also, when AVG loads when I turn on computer, it first says, "There are no active components." Then is refreshes and everything seems active. When I first tried to run Malware bytes, it would not let me do so. Since I wasn't able to run Malwarebytes, I changed the filename, and was able to run it. This is what was quarantined and removed:

C:\WINDOWS\TEMP\CD1.tmp (Trojan.Agent) ->Quarantined and Deleted successfully.
C:\Documents and settings\cloretz\userinit.exe (Heuristics.Reserved.Word.Exploit) --> Quarantined and deleted successfully.

I was hoping this success would solve my redirect issue, but it didn't. Also, when I reboot the computer I get this message:

AVGESRVX.EXE APPLICATION ERROR

The instruction at "0x7e41926e" referenced memory at "0x00000050." The memory could not be "read". Click OK to terminate the program.

I have not clicked on OK. I just X-out of that box.

If someone can please help me, I would so appreciate it. I'm at work, but at a complete stand still :thumbsup:

Hello.

Update MBAM (Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware) and Rescan it.

I think it's best for your computer, to threat that infection. Just follow the steps on http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/topic34773.html (Preparation Guide For Use Before Using Malware Removal Tools and Requesting Help).

When post your DDS Log (+Gmer log):
  • Do not post it at this topic or this forum but on http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/forum22.html
  • Be patient, it's very busy at this forum.
  • A professional expert will view your logs and will help you with that problem.
  • Do not use tools (like ComoFix) without professional experience/helper.
Good luck.

Your log is posted here.

Now that your log is posted, you should NOT make further changes to your computer (install/uninstall programs, use special fix tools, delete files, edit the registry, etc) unless advised by a Malware Response Team member, nor should you continue to ask for help elsewhere. Doing so can result in system changes which may not show it the log you already posted. Further, any modifications you make on your own may cause confusion for the member assisting you and could complicate the malware removal process or make things worst which would extend the time it takes to clean your computer.

From this point on the Malware Response Team should be the only members that you take advice from, until they have verified your log as clean.

Please be patient. It may take a while to get a response because the Malware Response Team members are very busy working logs posted before yours. They are volunteers who will help you out as soon as possible. Once you have posted your log and are waiting, please DO NOT "bump" your post or make another reply until it has been responded to by a member of the Malware Response Team. Generally the staff checks the forum for postings that have 0 replies as this makes it easier for them to identify those who have not been helped. If you post another response there will be 1 reply. A team member, looking for a new log to work may assume another Malware Response Team member is already assisting you and not open the thread to respond.

To avoid confusion, I am closing this topic until you are cleared by the Malware Response Team. If you still need assistance after your log has been reviewed and you have been cleared, please PM me or another moderator and we will re-open this topic.

Good luck with your log.
