I have a Acer Aspire 4730z Laptop and the SD card Slot stopped working all of a sudden. It worked fine, stopped working, I downloaded the update driver like Acer Support said, it then worked for a little bit, and now its not working at all again.

Can someone help? Thank you.

*Please don't tell me to ask Acer for help, my warranty has expired and the already told me what to do (downloading the driver)

Hello and welcome to Bleepingcomputer.

I would suggest you disconnect the power wire from the PSU, try opening the computer case, please keep one hand on the metal surface of the computer case to discharge any static electricity from your body, then try to follow the SD card reader data wire from the card reader, to where it attaches to the motherboard, disconnect it and reconnect it to where it plugs into the motherboard, in the same manor it was before you disconnected it. power up the computer again and see if it works.

Please post back the results.

Bruce.
