If the file is in your C:\Windows\Temp folder then it is 'fair game' for deletion. Neither Windows nor any other application would put important files in the temp folder.
AVG is an excellent free anti-virus program but should be supported by anti-spyware programs a firewall and the occasional online scan to keep your system malware free. See the BC
