Hi, I frequent the forums and I found your advice has been really helpful in multiple issues. Unfortunately I found one that has me scratching my head and no luck on resolving it. It appears that whatever is running in this computer has been locking the account out, disconnecting the outlook and asking to login using a password, and various other events (like trying to connect to a server in the middle of the night). SO I'm hoping to receive some help here. I have run Malwarebytes, Kaspersky, and a conficker removal tool (someone mention a possible suspect) but nothing has been found. Can I get some help? Here is an OTL log

I had no other issues, but the problems are starting to get worse, now its preventing the user from saving files on a network drive and the network account is getting lockout out more frequently than before. Anything else you need from me please let me know.

Hello

I Would like you to do the following.

Please print out or make a copy in notpad of any instructions given, as sometimes it is necessary to go offline and you will lose access to them.

Run Combofix:
Please visit this webpage for download links, and instructions for running the tool:

    http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/combofix/how-to-use-combofix

Please ensure you read this guide carefully and install the Recovery Console first.

The Windows Recovery Console will allow you to boot up into a special recovery (repair) mode.
This allows us to more easily help you should your computer have a problem after an attempted removal of malware.
It is a simple procedure that will only take a few moments of your time.

Once installed, you should see a blue screen prompt that says:
The Recovery Console was successfully installed.
    Please continue as follows:
    • Close/disable all anti virus and anti malware programs so they do not interfere with the running of ComboFix.
    • Click Yes to allow ComboFix to continue scanning for malware.

When the tool is finished, it will produce a report for you.

Please include the report in your next post:

    C:\ComboFix.txt

"information and logs"
In your next post I need the following
    1. Log from Combofix
    2. let me know of any problems you may have had
    3. How is the computer doing now?

Gringo

Sorry it took a while to post.

The combofix keeps rebooting the computer when its about to log. Then at start up gives a error message. Is this normal? The info they provided didn't state this happening so I am confused as to the reason why it would do this. I have run it twice and both times it has done the same thing. Scan for a few minutes, finish and just as its about to log it reboots the comp.

restarting of the computer is normal and could do it up tp three times anything more is not normal - what error message are you getting? have you gotten any logs yet?

Sorry, I've been pretty busy and haven't had the chance to run the scan once more. I will have it up today as I will have access to the computer once more. Sorry for the long wait.

Hello

Ok lets try this, I want you to run combofix in safe mode but it is very important that when combofix reboots the computer for you to direct it back into safe mode so it can finish the scan.

Boot into Safe Mode

Reboot your computer in Safe Mode.
  • If the computer is running, shut down Windows, and then turn off the power.
  • Wait 30 seconds, and then turn the computer on.
  • Start tapping the F8 key. The Windows Advanced Options Menu appears. If you begin tapping the F8 key too soon, some computers display a "keyboard error" message. To resolve this, restart the computer and try again.
  • Ensure that the Safe Mode option is selected.
  • Press Enter. The computer then begins to start in Safe mode.
  • Login on your usual account.

after combofix has finished its scan please post the report back here.
