I recently upgraded my vaio from windows vista to windows 7 professional. Just to make sure that everything was up to date, I went to the sony esupport website and was going to ensure that my firmware was up to date for my dvd player. Upon doing some, it errored out and said that it could not find any such drive. I used the drive less than 5 minutes before, but now it can not be found under manage nor can it be seen under the explorer window. When I search for new hardware, there is nothing to be found. It seems as if something has happened to the drive during the firmware update that caused it to go haywire. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated as I need to use the drive very soon. Thank you for your help in advance.

I just found my problem. I found the cd/dvd drive in the registry and deleted the upper and lower limits. I am unsure what caused this to happen, but it worked.
