I had a middle-eastern type put Win 7 on my computer and it turned out to be a developer copy (illegal copy). being reasonably hionest, I purchased a real versin of Win 7 Ultimate. What kind of problems will I encounter installing the legal version?

You shouldn't have any issue installing the legal version just format and install that is it. After you install you will have to go to your manufacturers website and install all of your device drivers though.
