My desktop is Dell Dimension E310....OS is XP.
Up until last night I could get on any site I wanted...but one site I frequent after i log in it never gets me off the "Thank You..you have successfully logged in" page....Ive clicked the refresh button but it doesnt help.

I have ran maintenance on my computer and done a system restore to the middle of last week...but I still cant get on the site. It does the same on my daughters laptop....her laptop is a Toshiba and her OS is Vista.

I would appreciate any help. I am very computer illiterate.

Thank you so much in advance.

Try clearing out the temporary Internet files as a first step
In the beginning there was the command line.

Ive done that....still doesnt help.

I downloaded Firefox...tried it....I get "Firefox has detected that the server is redirecting the request for this address in a way that will never complete."This problem can sometimes be caused by disabling or refusing to accept cookies.

I dont know how to enable a site for cookies....*blushes*

I appreciate the help.

With IE open...Tools/Internet Options/Privacy tab.

Select Medium. This the default setting for cookies.

Your current cookies for this particular site...may be damaged. In such case, best thing to do is delete the current ones and visit the site for new ones automatically.

Did you look in your cookies folder and delete all from this particular website?

No problem .

Navigate to C:, then the Documents & Settings folders.

One of those folders has either "owner" or your name.

Within that folder are more folders...one of those will be listed as Cookies.

Is that folder empty?

If not, find all cookies which reflect the site that you cannot access...and delete them.

Then...try navigating to that website.

Start/My Computer...you should see C: listed among the connected drives/partitions.
