Hi Guys,

I have been running and using Win 7 since about Jan 10'. I am a heavy user and have installed and deleted many programs. It has been some time since I cleaned, error checked and defragged. And, since I have installed Ubuntu next to windows windows defragger has had a tough time with it, so I thought I would install a defragger. I added disk defrag by auslogics, tried to do a error check but it would not let me due to recently installed software. I got an error check to run in safe mode with no errors. Deleted a few programs I thought might be the problem (axcrypt and xbmc player) still nothing. I get no viruses with scaan from malaware bytes or my avg.

Does anyone know of ANY programs that might interfere with the error check? or that are known for causing this problem. I do not want to have to delete programs till I find the one that is the problem.

Not sure if this is related but I have unistalled foxy tunes for firefox many times yet it still appears in the unnistall list.

thanks

Hello,

Besides foxytunes is there any other programs that left things behind? If so reinstall the program(s) down load Revo uninstaller http://majorgeeks.com/Revo_Uninstaller_d5706.html install it, run it, and then uninstall all the programs you want off or left stuff behind. while you are running the uninstaller if you are asked if you want to restart your computer say no and then select all the stuff left behind and delete it. then try to error check again.

Let me know if that works

Thanks man revo works great. Uninstalled a ton of left over crap from many apps. Only problem though is that it did not help my main issue.

Comp error checks disk in safe mode? Yes (although not sure how to get the log)

Comp error checks disk normal? no (I get a error about recently installed programs).

Other than this the comp runs fine....

Hello,

Now that you have posted a log here: http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/topic345254.html you should NOT make further changes to your computer (install/uninstall programs, use special fix tools, delete files, edit the registry, etc) unless advised by a MRT Team member, nor should you ask for help elsewhere. Doing so can result in system changes which may not show in the log you already posted. Further, any modifications you make on your own may cause confusion for the helper assisting you and could complicate the malware removal process which would extend the time it takes to clean your computer.

From this point on the MRT Team should be the only members that you take advice from, until they have verified your log as clean.

Please be patient. It may take a while to get a response because the MRT Team members are EXTREMELY busy working logs posted before yours. They are volunteers who will help you out as soon as possible. Once you have made your post and are waiting, please DO NOT make another reply until it has been responded to by a member of the MRT Team. Generally the staff checks the forum for postings that have 0 replies as this makes it easier for them to identify those who have not been helped. If you post another response there will be 1 reply. A team member, looking for a new log to work may assume another MRT Team member is already assisting you and not open the thread to respond.

Please be patient. It may take several days to get a response but your log will be reviewed and answered as soon as possible. I advise checking your topic once a day for responses as the e-mail notification system is unreliable.

To avoid confusion, I am closing this topic. Good luck with your log.
