McAfee Security Center will not open.

Here is the warning - "The version of SecurityCenter that is installed on your computer is designed for a different operating system." - Then it instructs me to uninstall and reinstall, which i have done several times.

I've talked to McAfee techs on the phone and online. They had me remove ".reg" files from thier proper locations. they are - volatile.reg / appcompatflags.reg / layers.reg . None of these removals helped.

I noticed someone else had a similar trouble and sought help from you. This someone was instructed by this site to pull DDS files. I have done this in hopes that they might help. However, this is my first time and i don't know how to attach them to this post.

P.S. i'm running Windows7 upgraded from Vista. i have had this problem with both.

What version of McAfee do you have? I had McAfee, and it ran perfectly fine on Windows Vista 64bit.
