MS XP Home SP3

When I put the mouse on an icon it selects multiple icons.

If I hit enter it executes them all at once.

The only way I can execute a program is to use the start button.

--

When I open note pad and try to type and the letters do not match the keysfor example a is blank
b is mm
c is ff
d is hh
g is >>

need I say more.

Funky and I mean in a weird kind of way

ran MBAM nothing found
EDIT= MBAM database version 4511 8-30-2010

Hi Martel.

What you're describing is not typical malware behavior. My first suspicion points towards a malfunctioning or failing keyboard. If something was spilled on the laptop that could easily explain the malfunctions in both mouse and keyboard since they are located in such close proximity on the laptop. If you have them available, try connecting a USB mouse or keyboard to the laptop and see if the issue persists while using those.

Blade Zephon,

Thanks for the reply.

I tried a regular mouse and same story on the multiple icon grabbing.

Noticed that it seems to wanna grab three at first and if I keep clicking it grabs more.

It is a pretty old laptop HP ZE4560us

maybe it has just laid down
