I was browsing the internet last night when my computer suddenly froze up on me, and wouldn't respond to anything but ctrl+alt+delete. I ended up restarting my computer through the ctrl+alt+delete menu, only to get the permanent blue screen of death with the error "IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL". I took my tower outside and sprayed it out with compressed air and moved my RAM sticks around, hoping that this might miraculously fix my problem; it did not. The only way I am able to even make it to my desktop is to boot up through Safe Mode (currently in Safe Mode w/ Networking). After running a complete system virus scan with no results, I ended up getting onto the web and Googling fixes for the IRQL issue, of which there are plenty. However, all fixes seem to involve me downloading some kind of a program that I'm supposed to run, but because I am booted up in Safe Mode, the Administrator Priveleges keep me from actually downloading any programs. Following my computer savvy cousin's advice, I ran the executable version of Hijack This and compiled a notepad log of the results. I'm hoping that Hijack This might have found some problem that my antivirus missed (I use Trend Micro Internet Security Pro, and until this, have been problem free for about 4 years.) and it shows in the log. Could someone with knowledge of these logs please provide some insight? Thanks very much in advance!
