Hi all,

Apologies if this has been covered before, but I want to change the permissions in a couple of processes in task manager.

I have done the old right click/ set priority/ high. I then get the message "The operation could not be completed. Access is denied"

I have also tried going through services (in Admin tools) to change security settings/ users for those programs but it would not let me.

The account is an administrator account (quadruple checked) and I have selected the check box for show processes for all users.

I haven't tried writing a new script as it looks very complicated and I don't want to stuff it up.

There is a post in the Vista forum "task manager permissions" which I looked at-it is similar to my issue, but I cannot get access though XP task manager to do as suggested in post#5 "Go to the top of that screen and right click on taskmgr.exe
Select "Run as administrator"
"

Any help would be GREATLY appreciated.

TIA

What would be the reason behind you wanting to change the process affinity for the processes?

What is it that you are wanting to do?

I am trying to upgrade the priority status to high for Punkbuster- when it runs at normal it blocks me from any PB registered games. It is a known fix for a handshake error that occurs with PnkbstrB.

This being said I have gone though even balance and done all thier solutions with no result. This is the next and (hopefully) last step.

For some obscure reason I cannot change the priority on this process even though I can change it on many other items.

Any help/ thoughts you might have would be greatly appreciated.
