So, I've run across a few viruses in my time and my searches for answers/fixes have led me here often enough that I figured it's about time I made an account. My most recent trial was on a laptop I had (which I have a backup image of the hard drive for) that got a nasty dose of false virus scanning software and caused me a bit of a headache, considering I was at work when it happened. I used combofix and it worked amazingly. So, now I'm off to see if I can't find some preventative measures

The best preventative measure, after installing a layered application protection, is to be extremely cautious about your Internet use.
