Yesterday evening my computer (os is vista) was infected with the AV security suite. I recognized it right away, all the popups, the icon in the taskbar tray, and the scan that popped up saying I had loads of infections. I doublechecked against the screencaps in the av security suite self removal guide, and they were all identical. I ran a full malwarebytes scan, but it could not find any infections.

At this point, my computer was getting pretty out of control, with internet explorer opening and tons of popups opening as well. I shut down and restarted in safe mode with networking, stopped IE from rerouting to a proxy, and downloaded rkill. I tried every download of rkill, none was able to scan for more than a few seconds before shutting down and generating a log. It didn't appear to be stopping any processes. I tried unsuccessfully to run mbam several times. Finally, I restarted my computer in regular mode and started mbam before av could block it. Again it found nothing. My computer is overrun with popups and warnings. I disconnected from the internet to stop the IE popup windows, but the computer is pretty much unusable. If anyone can help, that would be greatly appreciated!
