when i try to open my computer or doc or lets saywindows explorer, i get this windows installer/ smartwebprintingoc pop up it says the feature you are trying to use is on a CD-ROM or other removable disk that is not available. Insert SmartWebPrintingOc disk and click ok. i click cancel. i click cancel then a dialog box saying an installation package for the product cant be found. try the insatallatiom again using a valid copy of the istallation package "smartwebprintingoc.msi.

i thought the problem wa s the windows installer and i unstalled it and downloaded another. when i wanted to insatll it. it recommended that i back up my system. pls what do i do. is it going to delete some things on my sys?

What version of Windows Installer did you attempt to install? Version 4.5 is the correct one for XP, while 5 is the correct version for Win 7.

3.1 has been outdated for a couple of years, I believe. I would install 4.5 and see if the problems go away.

If not, I would try the suggestions in the MS link previously provided.
