Greetings,

I have been thinking of getting a new laptop I will be bringing to college classes while still having some power to play some games. I realize that the graphics would not be the best but I am looking for something "playable" not insanely fast. Although running Star Craft 2 might be a bit of a challenge, something like World of Warcraft shouldn't be that bad.

As close to regular sized keyboard would be preferred as well.

So far I have been looking at the ASUS 1215N that is going to be released which would run me about $550. Are there any other laptops in that price range that you wouldn't mind lugging around class?

I have the ASUS k50ij and really like it, it's cheap and I've used a number of games with this machine.

Good luck!

Look into the Toshiba notebooks. I bought a L505 with dual processor and it runs great. It was just over $500. You might find what you want there..

I found this really suitable laptop for you, it is balance for gaming and college use with an i3 processor. http://us.toshiba.com/computers/laptops/satellite/L640

Hi..... I bought an Acer Aspire 5740-5780 ...

Some features are listed below:

Intel Core i3 Processor 330M
(2.13 GHz, 1066 MHz FSB)

15.6" HD LED LCD screen

4 GB Memory

250 GB Hard Drive

DVD Super Multi DL drive

Acer Nplify 802.11 b/g/n

Sounds pretty good with the Intel graphics!

I love this computer... Like I said, its not flashy in design but I do not care for the bling bling...LOL... I want performance, and I do everything I want with this thing. Running office apps, burn dvd's , cd's browse internet, etc. I am not a gamer so I really couldn't tell you how this thing would do in some serious gaming. But I know for school or business, it is a really good performing machine.
