First POST! hey all, I just bought a new desktop comp for strictly website design, and school. It came with Kaspersky PURE and im trying to download it onto my labtop. One of the reasons I got a new comp was because I have a nasty virus adware on my labtop. The virus redirects me and gives me a pop up every once and a while. The virus also messes with my windows security and doesnt allow me to download anything from the web.

So tried downloading PURE onto the labtop but it says I must uninstall Norton antivirus. Norton doesnt appear in the list of stuff i can uninstall and i cant find any norton in my programs. I think norton must be hiding in my hard disk or somtheing. I tried installing "perfect uninstaller" to uninstall norton but i cant download that cuz of the virus. What do I do?

The Norton Removal Tool can be downloaded at this site, but if you have a rootkit on board, Kaspersky probably still won't download properly, and it is entirely possible that the removal tool won't be allowed to work properly either. You would be best to clean the malware out of the infected machine first.

You may have to download it to a flash drive from a clean computer to run it on the infected one.
