helphelp.i can start my computer and we can all log in but we cant click on any icons they dont work.if i move the cursor to the bottom of the page the egg timer comes up and it freezes please help im told i will have to have xp installed agin and will loose all my data.i can use cntrl alt and delete to get into the task manager but othing else.i run safe mode and its still the same anything else to try or is it a new computer

You can boot in safe mode but you cannot open any programs?

Boot and press the F8 key to bring up the boot menu. Choose the 'Safe Mode with Command Prompt' option.
At the prompt type CHKDSK C: /F

When it's finished reboot and see if there is any improvement.
