Fax problems w/HP Solution Center

My printer was locked offline after my son used it. I ended up unplugging the printer (HP 5610 ALL-IN-ONE) for a minute or so and re-booting the system.

That produced an error message ("HUC" something I believe), but no perceptible problems. I'net search pointed to the HP Digital Imaging Monitor as the culprit, which I disabled.

Today, I sent a fax with no problems using HP Solution Center and I have for nearly 3 years. When I went to send a 2nd fax, there was no response from any of the buttons on the Solution Center page.

I'm stumped. can anyone help?
