I recently built a new computer and cleaned out my old HD to use in my new one. I reinstalled windows 7 and added a second HD. Everything was running great until recently when I started getting BSOD for no apparent reason and at random times. Here they are:

Sounds like a driver/device problem. http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library...10).aspx#BKMK_4

You have a USB device that is causing one problem, what do you have connected to your USB ports?

That will help us narrow it down a bit.

This is your Nvidia video driver nvlddmkm.sys

I had the same crashes with my Nvidia video drivers and I re-installed the drivers, have not had an issue since I did this.

The 8.17.12.5896 driver I had, seemed to be causing my issue, but I reinstalled and my crashes have stopped happening.

Hope this helps.

Bruce.

Random BSOD's at random times

Random Access Memory - RAM (Memory)

Have you tried running memtest on each stick separately?

I too, just built a new computer recently and received very similar BSOD's because of faulty memory shipped.

Page faults in nonpaged area BSOD are almost always memory related and your driver IRQL error pointed to the windows kernel, in which Windows wouldn't load if there was an issue with that file.

Well I've updated my video cards driver so let's hope that was the issue.

As for RAM I use two 2GB DDR3 sticks (1 I already returned because it was faulty.) but both came up clean after testing them awhile ago to figure out which was being the issue about 2 months ago.

The only USBs that are plugged in are my Logitech G15 keyboard and my Razer Mamba's dock. I did have a USB flash drive plugged into the front once during a blue screen.

Hopefully this information will help you in finding a solution to your Windows 7 stop messages.

http://www.aumha.org/a/stop.php

Look for BAD_POOL_HEADER in the list.

Also KMODE_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED

Also try this web site for additional support.

Thanks for the reply Bruce,

It seems that I've solved that problem as I haven't had any more BSOD regarding BAD_POOL_HEADER or KMODE_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED

I installed 4 more GBs of RAM today bumping myself up to 8GBs total. When I first started up the computer it started a restart cycle and restarted over and over before it even displayed on anything on my monitor then finally after a few restarts it started up just fine and everything was dandy. I started googling things trying to figure out what was up with all the restarts. I couldn't quite find anything and then my computer Blue Screen and displayed SYSTEM_SERVICE_EXCEPTION. I looked that up and it seems its, go figure, something to do with Memory. I've tried running the Windows Memory Diagnostics but the problem I'm having is when it's done and it attempts to restart my computer will go into the silly cycle and by the time it finally finishes it's restarted a few times and I get nothing back from WMD. Is there a way I can view what it's found?

Since then I've had 3 total BSODs:

I'd be thinking hard drive...at least long enough to run the appropriate diagnostic.

I'd also run chkdsk /r, since it seems possible that your NTFS file system may be either the victim of a bad hard drive...or the culpit for all of your other errors. Won't hurt to run.

What USB Devices do you have installed on your computer?

Most of these errors refer to USB Devices and ports.
