Creating File In Command Promt

Hi All,


I was trying to create a TXT file thru command promt in windows 7 OS 32 bit..

the command i know is COPY CON (file name) ie COPY CON SHELL
but it doesnt goes thru . i just get a blinking curser at the bottom of the command .
i have tried logged in as admin in command promt (run as admin). also tried to
add .TXT after the file name still same things
i am able to create folders thru command promt MD (folder name ) .

Please suggest what to do .

After you enter the command sequence, e.g. COPY CON FILE.TXT, when you type, the text should appear at the flashing cursor. Once you have typed what you want, press CTRL-Z (hold down CTRL and press Z once), the sequence ^Z will appear at the cursor. Press Enter, the file will be written, and the cursor will return to the command prompt position.

Heh, the quirks of the command prompt aren't always obvious... and I'm no master.
