First off, I'm running Windows Vista Home Premium Service Pack 2 On an HP laptop.
My AV is Norton Internet Security 2010, but I also use Spybot S&D, along with Malware Bytes Anti-malware.

That being said; my problems started today when I was watching a Youtube video. It hit me out of nowhere ... audio was disabled, i couldn't open ANY AV products, and icons seem to be disappearing? I've never come across a problem I couldn't fix myself, but this one has got me seriously stumped. It sounds kind of like a bootkit to me, but i don't know for sure?

And as I can't currently run/open any Anti Virus program ... i can't do any scans.

Could someone please help? (: Thank you so much in advance, im losing my mind here.

I think I fixed the problem. (:

Downloaded 'Check MBR', and that seems to have done the trick.
