I'll just repost what I did in the "Am I Infected?" forum, because I'm pretty sure I am infected many times over.

It started out with a Google redirect virus, which, in its innocent stages where it could still be ignored and before I could figure out how to get rid of it completely, must have redirected me to a malicious page that installed a rogue anti-virus, complete with its shield icon in the taskbar reminding me that my computer is infected and to run an anti-virus software yada yada, the annoying one that didn't allow me to open up any applications, including task manager. I thought, "Okay, I've dealt with this before and came out unscathed. I can do it again."

I rebooted my computer and quickly pressed ctrl+alt+del before the rogue anti-virus started up and stopped a process called srtysjlshdw.exe, which, even to my less technical eye, I knew didn't belong. That got rid of the fake anti-virus problem for now. And yet, after I ran Spybot and Malwarebytes, removed infected files and then restarted the computer to check whether things were okay and sweep things clean using CClean, the rogue anti-virus was still there, worse than ever. So I shut down and started it up again, this time in Safe Mode without Networking so that I could work while avoiding the rogue anti-virus which, from what I could remember from my run-in with it months before, needed internet to work (I realize now that it must be a whole new virus). But when I tried to get into safe mode, this came up on a black screen:

"lsass.exe Application Error
The application failed to initialize properly (0x0000142). Click on OK to terminate the application."

When I click OK, the screen stays black and I am forced to hold my power button to force shut down.

So my computer wouldn't start up in Normal mode nor Safe mode. Okay. I rebooted my computer and chose to open Windows using the last known good configuration, and that got me in. All the viruses are still there. I looked through the startup list here and found a handful of harmful processes that could be backdoor trojans in my Task Manager that I am unable to end process, including csrss.exe, smss.exe, and lsass.exe. But at least I could run DDS for help. Here is my DDS log:

============= FINISH: 19:13:24.70 ===============

I'm looking at this log and I'm a bit confused: Why are there a bunch of Korean bank and card sites on my Spybot Trusted Sites list?

Sorry, but I was unable to run GMER: every time I tried to scan, my computer would either freeze or a dos screen would take over and tell me that windows is restarting, and when after it restarts a window pops up stating that Windows had encountered a serious error and needed to close, and asks if I would like to send an error report.

Please, is my computer salvageable? Or should I just drop everything, go back to default and reinstall windows?

Thank you for your time in reading this! Sorry for being a bit of a computer noob. I'm hoping for good news.

Hello and Welcome to the forums!

My name is Gringo and I'll be glad to help you with your computer problems.

Somethings to remember while we are working together.
  1. Do not run any other tool untill instructed to do so!
  2. Please Do not Attach logs or put in code boxes.
  3. Tell me about any problems that have occurred during the fix.
  4. Tell me of any other symptoms you may be having as these can help also.
  5. Do not run anything while running a fix.

In the upper right hand corner of the topic you will see a button called Options. If you click on this in the drop-down menu you can choose Track this topic. By doing this and then choosing Immediate E-Mail notification and then clicking on Proceed you will be advised when we respond to your topic and facilitate the cleaning of your machine.

In order for me to see the status of the infection I will need a new set of logs to start with.
