Hi Folks,

Every few months I visit the folks, and attempt to repair my mother's computer. We have installed all the typical protections and instructed her in safe browsing, but she tends to click on any window that opens. With that, the browser (IE 8 from Yahoo) is hijacked. It will open any number of pages, sometimes in the calling tab, other times in a new window. Your help in clearing it up would be appreciated, especially for anyone willing to rush a bit - I fly out on Saturday.

I have followed the instructions on Bleepingcomputer, and will post a DDS log. I tried to get a GMER log, but the scan would not complete, or was taking hours to complete, hard to tell the difference.

Again, thanks for your help.

Randy
