Ok. I am back AGAIN. I am this close(---) to reformatting my hardrive if the virus attacks don't stop. Anyway, here is my hijack this log.

Welcome to the forum.

The following entry is probably causing your problems:

If this is the free version, it comes with Gain, which is adware.

You might try uninstalling it if possible. If not, scan with Hijack This and put a checkmark next to these entries:

Close all windows and browsers and click "fix checked".

Next, navigate to this folder and delete the entire folder shown in bold.
C:\PROGRA~1\BUTTER~1\BO1HEL~1.EXE /partner BO1

Next, download CleanUp 4.0, install and run it. Open Cleanup! by double-clicking the icon on your desktop (or from the Start > All Programs menu).
Set the program up as follows:
Click "Options..."
Move the arrow down to "Custom CleanUp!"
Put a check next to the following (Make sure nothing else is checked!):
Empty Recycle Bins
Delete Cookies
Delete Prefetch files
Cleanup! All Users
Click OK
Press the CleanUp! button to start the program.

It may ask you to reboot at the end, click NO.

Download CleanUp 4.0, install and run it. This program will clean out all your temporary internet files.

Download the trial version of Spy Sweeper from Here

Install it using the Standard Install option. (You will be asked for your e-mail address, it is safe to give it. If you receive alerts from your firewall, allow all activities for Spy Sweeper)

You will be prompted to check for updated definitions, please do so.
(This may take several minutes)

When Spy Sweeper has updated, reboot to safe mode.

Boot into Safe Mode:
Restart your computer and immediately begin tapping the F8 key on your keyboard.
If done right a Windows Advanced Options menu will appear. Select the Safe Mode option and press Enter.

Open Spy Sweeper and click on Sweep and allow it to fully scan your system.

When the sweep has finished, click Remove to remove any items found. Save the log.

Exit Spy Sweeper.

Reboot to normal mode and post the results from Spy Sweeper along with a new Hijack This log.

Viccy,

Spy Sweeper says that my trial version has expired, but I have never used it before. Also, I have left the viruses in the vault. What should I do with them. I have AVG. I also have adaware and spybot. Will those do what Spysweepe would have done.

You can delete the files that were in quarantine. and spybot and adaware are good programs, but they do quite the same job as Spy Cleaner. But let's try a different program.

Please follow the instructions provided, you may want to print out these instructions and use them as a reference.

First:
Please download ewido security suite it is a free version of the program.
  • Install ewido security suite
  • When installing, under "Additional Options" uncheck..
    • Install background guard
    • Install scan via context menu
  • Launch ewido, there should be an icon on your desktop, double-click it.
  • The program will now open to the main screen.
  • When you run ewido for the first time, you will get a warning "Database could not be found!". Click OK. We will fix this in a moment.
  • You will need to update ewido to the latest definition files.
    • On the left hand side of the main screen click update.
    • Then click on Start Update.
  • The update will start and a progress bar will show the updates being installed.
    (the status bar at the bottom will display "Update successful")
If you are having problems with the updater, you can use this link to manually update ewido.

Once the updates are installed do the following:
  • Click on scanner
  • Click on Complete System Scan and the scan will begin.
  • NOTE: During some scans with ewido it is finding cases of false positives.**
    • You will need to step through the process of cleaning files one-by-one.
    • If ewido detects a file you KNOW to be legitimate, select none as the action.
    • DO NOT select "Perform action on all infections"
    • If you are unsure of any entry found select none for now.
  • Once the scan has completed, there will be a button located on the bottom of the screen named Save report
  • Click Save report.
  • Save the report .txt file to your desktop.
Now close ewido security suite.
Restart your computer and post a new Hijack This log along with the Ewido Report
