I seem to be having the same problem as in this topic: ( http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/t/9985/windows-xp-recovered-from-serious-error/ ) I already did what QQQQ said and turned off the auto restart so I can get a look at the blue screen if it happes again as well as checked the logs. None of the red X errors were disc errors, but there were a few yellow ! disc warning that read 'An error was detected on device \Device\Hardisc0\D durring a paging opperation', though none seemed to be close to when the problem happened.

As far as the red errors, the closest one to the problem said 'Error code 00000077, parameter1 00000001, parameter2 ff7fff7f, parmeter3 00000000, parameter4 aac0ec34'. Other then that there was one that said 'The following boot-start or system-start driver(s) failed to load: Lbd' which showed up a few times durring the past week of logs, usually with one error or another involving my network adpater.

Let's try the following.

Download/install BlueScreenView, http://www.nirsoft.net/utils/blue_screen_view.html.

Double-click BlueScreenView.exe file.

When scanning is done, Edit/Select All...then File/Save Selected Items.

Save the report as BSOD.txt.

Open BSOD.txt in Notepad, copy all content and paste it into your next reply.

ok, in the mean time, the problem happened again. This time after restarting I got a message saying:

One of the files containing the system's Registry data had to be recovered by use of a log
or alternate copy. The recovery was successfull.

Then when opening my browser(avant) to come back here and finish my interrupted post, for every saved tab my browser tried to open, and each page I tried after that, all I got was a popup saying the url couldn't be found. Chrome which I'm on now if fine, IE is doing the same thing, and another program I tried gave me the same error attempting to open the page. I uninstalled IE to try reinstalling it, but every time I try to reinstall it, it starts stops in the middle and doesn't do anything. And I have installed and uninstalled dozens of programs before, I do know what I'm doing there so its not because I'm doing something wrong there.

Also got another new error about a .dll that couldn't be found. Attaching screenshot below..

Heres the new logs from the program you linked me to including the new crash:

How many hard drives are attached to this system? The warning you cited relates to a D: partition, while your system partition should be C:.

The error messages you cited can have varying causes, including malware.

I'm going to move this to the Am I Infected forum for a look.

Just one, and nothing there has ever changed. Not sure if it would matter for anything but it is a laptop by the way..

[edit] checked those logs again, that disc warning I mentioned has happened over a dozen times since that last crash last night. Crashed again just now too..
