Dear Wise Ones,

I want to do a clean install of Windows 7 on my three year old PC running Vista. The machine has six accounts on it and is backed up daily. This is what I propose to do:

1) I bought a new sata2 drive. I will replace the current c: drive with that.
2) Install vista on the new drive.
3) Restore everyone's accounts.
4) Upgrade to Windows 7.

This way if, for some unanticipated reason, the restore files do work, I've still got my original drive. Do you think this will work? Is there anything I have not considered?

Thank you!!

I don't see why it wouldnt, I suppose it will but I would wait until you get a few more opinions. Is your vista install disc a oem copy that does not need a product key?
If I have replied to a topic and you reply and I haven't gotten back to you within 48 hours (2 days) then send me a P.M.
