Hi!
After following usasma's guide on how to debug the memory.dmp file, I have finnaly got the answer to why my computer still shuts down from BSOD in Windows 7.
Befor I post all the numbers, I guess it should be added that I have not had any problems with BSOD when I was running Vista, nor does it seem to be a problem as long as I run things that don't require much (BSOD has only hit when I was playing games, etc. *edit* I stand corrected. Just got BSOD while only running media player, firefox and ad-aware update).

Hi  to Bleepingcomputer.com

Please do the following.

Download BlueScreenView
No installation required.
Double click on BlueScreenView.exe file to run the program.
When scanning is done, go Edit>Select All.
Go File>Save Selected Items, and save the report as BSOD.txt.
Open BSOD.txt in Notepad, copy all content, and paste it into your next reply. :thumbup2:

Since you are a fan of Usasma (so am I)...I will direct you to his new web home, http://www.carrona.org/bsodindx.html#0x00000101. I do this because it's the best data available on your error, IMO.

Read the section dealing with STOP 0x00000101 and it will probably be the best info you can get that will help.

But...after you post the BlueScreenView data, we may be able to pinpoint a driver/program as a likely culprit.

Louis

Wow. Thank you very much!

And just to confirm with you guys, when there is talk of "restarting windows 7 setup", they mean to reinstall windows 7?
I just don't want to mess anything up more than it already is..

Sorry for the stupid question. I realize that it does indeed mean that I need to reinstall it all, and I am doing so now.
I just didn't wish to miss translate anything, and like I wrote, mess up more than already is.

Anyhow, thank you very much, hamluis!
Fingers crossed for smooth sailing ahead ;)

I didn't do much...sorry I can't answer any real questions about Win 7. Although I have it installed on two computers, I seem to spend little time on it because I spend much time answering XP questions .

Good luck!

Louis
