For example, if I go to youtube, the video will play, buffer, play, buffer, etc. It never used to be this bad.

How do I determine if it's the internet connection, router, or computer?

I have a cable internet connection, wireless router, and I'm on windows XP.

What is your ISP advertised speed?

Go here: http://www.speedtest.net/
Post your numbers.

Please, post some computer info:
- processor type, amount of RAM (hold Windows logo key, hit Pause/Break key)
- hard drive size/free space (open "My Computer", right click on hard drive letter, click "Properties")
- security programs in use (antivirus, firewall)

Thanks for the reply.

I ran the speed test but got an error during the upload portion. Perhaps firewall? Prior to that, I got a 2.89 mbps download speed and 42 ms ping. I am on a cable connection.

Processor Type: Pentium 4 CPU 3.20GHz 3.19GHz, 3.00GB RAM

HD Size/Free: 144GB/53.0GB

Computer Associates (CA) security suite running.

I'm not sure to be honest. I get it bundled with the cable and the bill states "Basic Cable and Road Runner".

On the website it shows:

RoadRunner Basic - 1.5 Mbps download
RoadRunner Standard - 7Mbps download

Well, in that case, it looks like you're pretty much getting, what you're paying for.

Which browser do you use to access uTube?
Did you try different browser?

OK, thanks. I'll have to contact the cable company to confirm.

I use Firefox for a browser.

Close Firefox. Go Start>All Programs>Mozilla Firefox, click on Mozilla Firefox (safe mode). Same thing?
