I have a problem.
In all media players I've tried (Winamp, Foobar2000, Creative MediaSource Player) it randomly stops playing in the middle of the song and skips to the next song. Happens, on average, every hour or so, though not in a regular interval as far as I can tell.

Any help would be appreciated.

Might help to state the Windows OS. Is this a laptop? Might have to do with the hard drive trying to go into sleep?

OS is Win XP pro, with all updates, on a desktop computer.
Updated are video, audio and and the media players.
The files are mostly mp3, some wma also, all are played from hard drive.
The speed is 2,2 GHz on both cores (X2 4400+).
My RAM is 4x 512 MB PC3200 DDR SDRAM.

Might have to do with the hard drive trying to go into sleep?

As far as I know, they shouldn't.
