The FTC has files its first case on Spyware in the U.S against a company that is purported to install spyware and popups on unwilling computers and then trying to sell them the product to clean them.
They are going after Seismic Entertainment Productions Inc., Smartbot.Net, Inc., and Sanford Wallace and have asked the courts to restrain them from distributing this software, remove the scripts that install it, and provide documents related to their Internet marketing.
