I have an issue that seems to be pretty common but am having no luck resolving it. My PC was blue screening every other reboot or so. After running Malaware bytes and SuperAntiSpyware until they came up clean I tried TDSS rootkit removing tool. This seemed to resolve the blue screening problem but now I still the issue of the wave volume muting and IE ads popping up. I have run MBRcheck and it returns the following:

PhysicalDrive0 Known-Bad MBR code detected (Whistler /Black Internet)!

Will overwriting the MBR resolve the issue?

I am running Windows XP SP 3

Hello,

Please follow the instructions in ==>This Guide<== starting at Step 6.

Once the proper logs are created, then make a NEW TOPIC and post it ==>HERE<== Please include a description of your computer issues and what you have done to resolve them.

If you can produce at least some of the logs, then please create the new topic and explain what happens when you try to create the log(s) that you couldn't get. If you cannot produce any of the logs, then still post the topic and explain that you followed the Prep. Guide, were unable to create the logs, and describe what happens when you try to create the logs.
